I grabbed this and volume II at the same time - 5 variations of that dub lineage coming through dance music that are all so nice to listen through. Sometimes lush and washy, sometimes buttoned right down. Always a good time!

Evocative, spectral ambience that shimmers like a mirage above a desolate, sun-blanched prairie. I’m tangentially reminded of The Volume Settings Folder, Hammock circa “Longest Year” and even “Playing With Fire” era Spacemen 3 but “Western Romance Novels” (WHAT a title!) inhabits a blissed out soundworld all its own. Stunning.
